The media has been urged to live up to expectation in preserving Islam and Sanctity of life and the society by reporting and educating the people on the need to frown against activities of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, LGBTQ.
National Missioner of Ansar"udeen Society of Nigeria, Abdulrahman Ahmad gave this charge at the maiden Ramadan Lecture of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Lagos Council held in Ikeja with the theme 'Islam and Sanctity of Life.
Sheikh Ahmad who spoke on the topic' LGBTQ:'Protecting The Sanctity Of The Ummah' noted that Parents, especially Mothers have a great role to play in nurturing the family, inculcating good values to stem the menace in the society.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the occasion, former Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University, LASU, Professor Olanrewaju Fagbohun urged Nigerians to keep faith with the Country and speak positivity amid the current economic challenges which he said are not limited to Nigeria.

Speaking on the theme, "Mitigating Marital Discord Occasioned by Economic Crisis" Lecturer, Department of Mathematics, Lagos State University, Dr Aminat Ige-Ariyibi, urged spouses to be kind to themselves in this period of hardship in the county and never curse any season.
Earlier, the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Lagos Council, Adeleye Ajayi urged Muslim faithful in the spirit of Ramadan to show love and ensure peaceful coexistence in the state and Country at large.
Highlight of the event was the recitation from the Holy Quran and presentation of certificates to successful students.
