Lagos State Government Suspends Market Activities In Central Lagos




 

The Lagos State Government has directed that commercial activities in Dosunmu Street and its immediate environs in Lagos be suspended immediately until further notice as a result of a fire incident which has engulfed the area

Reacting to the fire incident, the Special Adviser to the Governor on CBD, Honourable Bola Olumegbon Lawal said the measure became necessary in order to prevent loss of life and maintain peace and order in the area

Honourable Lawal in a statement signed by the Director, Public Affairs Central Business Districts, Seyi Akitoye stressed that market women and men in the area should make way for emergency
respondents who have timely responded to the incident to effectively perform their duties 

The fire which started in the early hours of today, Tuesday, 9th April, 2024 has already brought down 2 buildings while efforts is on going to stop the ranging fire.

Areas affected include Dosumu, Nnamdi Azikwe, Moshalashi, 
Woro Pedro, Obanikoro Streets 

Others are Ago Tawa, Idumagbo Avenue, Idumagbo , Ido - Oluwo and
Oju Olobun Streets.
