Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu has assured Lagos residents, business owners and religious tourists of adequate security in the state.
Governor Sanwo-Olu gave the assurance when he received the President of Nigerian Baptist Convention, Reverend Israel Akanji and his entourage at the Lagos House, Ikeja.
The Governor who confirmed the kidnap and release of three Lebanese on the waterways on their way to Ikorodu, noted that the effort to give them freedom is a signal that the State government will not condone any act of criminality in the State.
Governor Sanwo-Olu in his response to the request of the Nigerian Baptist Convention to host its annual Baptist World Alliance in Nigeria for the first time in over a century, promised to ensure a safe and delightful experience for all foreign religious tourists coming to Lagos next month for the convention.
According to him, Religious Organisations are stakeholders in governance and they have a role to play through Intervention participation.
Earlier, the President of African and Nigerian Baptist Convention, Reverend Israel Akanji, commended the giant strides of the Sanwo-Olu administration in food security, Transport palliatives for residents during the current economic challenges in the Country.
Akanji solicited the support of the state government to host the World's annual Baptist Alliance which had its headquarters in the United States of America.
Reverend Akanji appealed to Governor Sanwo-Olu to facilitate complete hand over of the parcel of land belonging to Lagos Baptist School in Agege.
