LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT REBRANDS AGRICULTURE MINISTRY

Lagos State Government has announced the rebranding of the State's Ministry of Agriculture which will now be known as the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Systems. Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems, Abisola Olusanya who stated this during a Press Briefing on Wednesday, at Alausa, noted that with the rebranding of the Ministry, three new Departments, including, Livestock Services, Agric Engineering, Produce Safety and Food Quality Control, have been introduced. Olusanya while reeling out the achievements of the Ministry, said the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has done a lot in the area of development of food logistics road map and affordability of food items across the State. The Commissioner said the Mushin Food Hub which was opened in December 2023, has recorded Forty Market open days, with Three Hundred and Thirty-Nine registered Vendors and Nine Hundred and Eighteen million naira recorded transactions in the last six months. In his closing remarks, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Food Systems, Emmanuel Audu emphasized that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's administration is working on bringing Hope and succour to Lagosians on the reduction of food prices and making food available to residents.
