Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, and Mudi Africa Chief Execitive Officer, Mudiagha Clement, have urged boys to cultivate discipline and focus to achieve their life goals.
The call was made at the Lagos Boy Child Initiative (LBCI) 3-day workshop, which took place at Agbowa-Ikosi Model College.
Over 200 boys from private and public schools, orphanages, and technical schools attended the workshop which commenced on Monday.
Wahab advised the boys not to let their background limit their purpose in life and emphasized the importance of discipline, courage, and consistency in achieving their dreams.
"Find your purpose in life. Don't look at your background and don't allow it to limit you. Ensure you have discipline," Wahab said.
On his part, Mudi Africa's CEO,
Mudiagha Clement also stressed the need for discipline, self-improvement, and education.
"You must have vision. No matter how talented you are, you must have discipline. Improve yourself and focus on your education," he said.
The workshop, organized by Lagos State First Lady, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, aimed to empower boy children and nurture them into responsible individuals.
The event featured a cooking competition, comprising five groups of five boys each.
Each member of the group that came first (Team Ikeja) received a shopping voucher of N100,000 while each member of each group that came second (Team Lagos Island). and third (Team Epe)received a shopping voucher of N50,000.
Participants expressed gratitude to the First Lady for the initiative, citing valuable lessons learned on discipline, education, and social issues.
